    Dave Litfin has been handicapping since 1972, when at age 14 he began frequenting the 72nd street branch of Off-Track Betting on Manhattan's Upper West Side. He worked as part of the Daily Racing Form chart crew from 1982-84, and then joined the New York Racing Association media relations office for several years before launching a career in public handicapping that began with the New York Daily News and led to a quarter-century run as the lead New York handicapper for DRF from 1991-2016 and the well-received weekly column "Handicapper's Corner" column. He is the author of "Dave Litfin's Expert Handicapping" and "Real-Life Handicapping", and contributed chapters for several DRF Press books including "Champions", "Bet With the Best" and "Bet With the Best 2: Longshots". He is currently based in South Florida as part of the chart crew for Equibase at Gulfstream Park's Winter Championship Meet.
